Shield law for abortion and other protected care now covers patients anywhere
California's limits on arrests, subpoenas and cooperation with other states over legally protected care, such as abortion, now apply wherever the patient is. Police may not arrest someone the Governor refused to extradite, and financial firms must reject out-of-state records demands lacking a sworn statement.
