Social workers must seek emergency care for dependent children who urgently need it

A county social worker who sees that a child in the dependency system needs immediate emergency care must now take reasonable steps to get it, such as calling emergency services, and must tell an Indian child's tribe. Child welfare social workers are also defined as non-officers under the records-tampering law.
